Today went great the officers put on a surprise performance of Thriller. We had lighting, fog and dancing. It was a lot of fun got everyone involved to learn the dance and had a stage full of Thriller zombies!
Hello everyone this coming Thursday we will be having a club gathering on the main stage. also we will be having a movement workshop, so come on down and bring a friend.
Hey everyone I'm your publicist Winston Peacock this year is going great so far for the club, I hope you are all enjoying the start of this year also. Don't forget to get your friends to join the more the merrier!!!!!! Remember we have a comment box in the GREEN ROOM don't be shy let us know how you feel. Look out for the
Meetings don't need to be dull and drab so we're going to try something new to spice it up a bit. We've already added a suggestion box and some of you have brought to our attention that we don't do anything fun. The officers don't smile and we're a tad boring. Some of you even want to play some improv games and that's GREAT because we know a million of them!
At our next meeting, we're planning on playing some games and brainstorming some new activities to try. We're also going to introduce the "Win A Dumb Prize" bucket. The bucket is going to be filled with goodies and we'll pull a number. Whoever wins gets to fish something out of the bucket. Isn't that just awesome? Thank you, we know. We just hope that you Masqueraders haven't given up on us because we haven't given up on you. We're still very new at this and we need a little time to figure everything out. It's very tricky, but we know that in time we'll get the hang of it. Of course, if you think we're doing a terrible job, you can run for office next year and show us how it's done. In the meantime, break a leg my little beauties and we'll see you at the next meeting! ...seemed to flow pretty well! We were supposed to get a photo of everyone, but we forgot our cameras - bad officers!
The good news is, everyone seems to be excited about the karaoke party coming up on the 17th of September - I know we are! We can't wait to see everyone's smiling faces! There is a $5 fee, but the great news is that you get food, dancing & karaoke! Plus the money is to fund the party, so it's a collaboration between everyone. We've invited the Dance Club (Random Acts of Movement) and the music and art departments to join us! It's important that all the performing/visual artists know each other on campus. Why should we be separate? We shouldn't! In fact, our next meeting will be in conjunction with the Dance Club next Thursday (September 9). The Dance Club also has a new website and you can access it here. With that, I bid you farewell! Until next time my proscenium stage lovers - break a leg! (From Left) Danny, Ashley, Monica, Alma, Gloria and CarminaIt was hot, we were sweating, our chocolate melted, but we had fun! Where were you? Hopefully the club will start off with a huge bang! With more than a page worth of sign-ups, we generated interest with our big smiles and personalities. Not only that, we shared a table with Dance Club and helped support each other throughout the event. If you're interested in joining the dance club as well, you can because our events and meetings will never conflict or they will coincide. Great news for performance junkies! If you're dying to meet us and see what we're all about, come to our first official club meeting on Thursday September 2nd at 12:30 in the campus theatre! Until them my little performing minions, break a leg! Dance Club reps, Brandon, Vanessa and Hannah
The Masqueraders are looking for spirited theatre junkies to help contribute to THIS blog! Do you have photos or stories to share about your theatre classes and rehearsals? Send your goodies to:
[email protected] We'll happily post your entries to THIS PAGE and share it with the public! Help spread the word about the beauty and fun of MSJC Theatre. Feel free to leave a comment. Until next time my little drama-filled donuts, break a leg! Hello Fellow Masqueraders!
The club is off to a running start so far. We've got lots of exciting events planned for the theatre club this semester and we hope you'll be involved every step of the way! If you've seen the event calendar posted on this website, you'll notice our first club meeting will be held on Thursday, September 9th at 12:30 pm in the campus theatre. We'll be discussing everything from publicity runs to the Welcome Back Karaoke Party! August 26th is Club Rush, so we'll be set up outside trying to recruit new members. If you're asking yourself why you should join, the question you should be asking is why wouldn't you join? Don't you have a love for theatre? Don't you want to see those seats packed at every opening? Don't you want to have a voice when the season and scheduled are being planned? And don't forget, as an official club member, you get your ticket half price for every play performed this year! What are you waiting for? Until next time, break a leg! |
